Yield
8 – 10

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise or plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped (or 2 teaspoons dried dill)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, optional

Method

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the sour cream and mayonnaise or Greek yogurt. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the chopped dill, garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Stir thoroughly until the herbs and seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the dip.
  4. Add the lemon juice, if using, and mix until fully incorporated.
  5. Taste and adjust the salt or black pepper as needed.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to blend.
  7. Stir gently before serving, then transfer to a serving bowl.
  8. Serve chilled with fresh vegetable sticks, crackers, or chips.

Kitchen notes

Fresh dill gives this dip its brightest flavor, while dried dill provides a more concentrated herbal taste. Chilling for at least an hour helps the seasonings blend and creates a richer, more balanced dip.
